As the Director of New Student Advising, Kerry Kincanon provides strategic leadership for Oregon State University’s efforts to support new first-year and transfer students as they transition and onboard at OSU. Kerry works closely with the Executive Director of Academic Advising and collaborates with advising leaders across campus to ensure attentive, effective, and consistent advising practices. Additionally, oversees the University Exploratory Studies (UESP) Program, supporting undecided and exploratory students, and engages with key stakeholders to integrate programs that meet the diverse needs of new students.
Kerry started with the UESP in 1999 and has been a Head Advisor since the fall of 2004. Kerry enjoys working with UESP students because they have a broad diversity of interests and experiences. Every student brings something new to the table.
Kerry's educational background includes a B.S. in English from Wayne State College (Wayne, NE), an M.A. in English from Ball State University (Muncie, IN) and an Ed.M in College Student Services Administration from Oregon State University.
