Winter Term Textbook Requisition Reminder - Deadline November 3rd

To: Instructors and Staff

From: Alix Gitelman, Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs

Date: October 23, 2025

Dear Colleagues,

Priority registration for winter term 2026 begins on November 17. As a reminder, faculty must notify the Beaver Store of course material adoptions two weeks prior to the start of phase 1 registration, which is Nov. 3.

House Bill 2919 mandates Oregon public colleges and universities to list all required course materials, with prices, on the BeaverStore website. This is to ensure students have enough time to plan for these expenses prior to registration. You can learn more at the FAQ on the Office of Academic Affairs website.

The BeaverStore uses Verba Collect to track your course materials requests. If you do not know your Verba Collect login or are having difficulty accessing the form, please contact the BeaverStore.

If you are asking students to purchase learning materials such as software, art kits, or other material without an ISBN, please add this to the notes field, including the cost.

Please complete the requisition form even if you do not require students to purchase course materials, or if you are using library materials and/or open educational resources (OER) instead.

The BeaverStore offers several helpful videos on how to use Verba Collect.

If you have further questions, please contact:

  • James Howard, Chief Academic Materials Officer, about the process for submitting bookstore adoptions.
  • Stefanie Buck, Director of Open Educational Resources, about the legislative requirements.

We also greatly appreciate the continued collaboration of the OSU Beaver Store, a nonprofit organization, in serving OSU students and faculty.

Best,

Alix Gitelman, Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs

Stefanie Buck, Director of Open Educational Resources
