Dear Colleagues,
I am pleased to announce the launch of an internal search for the Director of the Difference, Power, and Oppression (DPO) Program. Dr. Natchee Barnd has filled this interim role over the last year, and I thank him for his work helping faculty prepare curriculum for the two DPO courses (foundations and advanced) to be launched with Core Education in June 2025.
The DPO Program, formerly known as Difference, Power, and Discrimination, has been a cornerstone at OSU for 30 years. It plays a crucial role in creating inclusive curricula that address the intersections of gender, race, class, sexual identity, age, ability, and other institutionalized systems of inequity and privilege in the United States.
The Director of the DPO Program will lead efforts to provide educational opportunities and resources for faculty, fostering a community where all members can understand social inequities and contribute to OSU's transformation towards greater institutional inclusivity and equity.
This is a 0.5 FTE professional faculty appointment within Academic Affairs, reporting to the Associate Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning (search currently underway). The appointment will be for a three-year term, with the possibility of renewal.
Please see the full job posting here. You are welcome to be in touch with me or search advisory chair Steve Wuhs if you have any questions about the position.
Best,
Alix Gitelman, Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and Senior Vice Provost
