Dear Colleagues
As many of you are already aware, on March 7, Oregon State is hosting a new event called the Think Affordable Summit.
The primary goal of the Think Affordable Summit is to build awareness of the many resources available to make learning more affordable for OSU students. The event will feature lightning presentations from leaders across OSU, highlighting resources such as alternative credentials, hardship grants, free financial guidance, and much more.
In addition, Provost Ed Feser will host a panel discussion with statewide leaders to address the issue of college affordability in Oregon. The conversation will include state Rep. John Lively (District 7), who chairs the House Higher Education Committee, and Ben Cannon, executive director of the Oregon Higher Education Coordinating Commission.
There has been a great deal of interest in this summit, so only a few seats are still available in the Memorial Union, but any invitee can register to attend virtually.
Please see the full agenda and register on the event website to join us.
We hope this event will energize the OSU community around affordability and provide momentum to keep the conversation going after the summit.
Together, we can be leaders for change — at Oregon State and beyond.
We hope you can join us.
Sincerely,
Alix Gitelman, Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, Senior Vice Provost
Lisa L. Templeton, Associate Provost for Ecampus
