Dear Colleagues,

The Baccalaureate Core Director search committee invites you to meet two finalists:

  • McKenzie Huber, Academic Advisor, College of Forestry, Oregon State University
  • Robin Pappas, Information and Technology Governance Program Manager, University Information and Technology, Oregon State University
    • Forum: Tuesday 6/8/2021, 10:00 am – 10:55 am
    • Meeting URL: Robin Pappas forum
    • Password: 678750

Campus forums are open to all OSU faculty, staff, students, and invited external partners. The candidates will give a short presentation on their experiences related to this position and respond to the following:

The Fall 2019 Faculty Senate Listening Sessions revealed both students and faculty were concerned 1) the number of courses and categories in the Baccalaureate Core is larger than ideal, and 2) the purpose of the Baccalaureate Core is not well understood. Faculty Senate will ultimately decide on a new model that addresses these issues. What do you see as your role in the process and how would you, as Baccalaureate Core Director, partner with Faculty Senate, the Baccalaureate Core Committee, and other stakeholders to facilitate an effective implementation of Baccalaureate Core 2.0? Beyond the Baccalaureate Core 2.0 implementation, how will you work to improve the long-term effectiveness of the Baccalaureate Core at OSU?

The forums will be recorded. A survey link will be shared at the end of the forums to collect feedback from those who attend in person and those who view the recording. The search committee greatly appreciates your input.

For questions, please contact the search committee chair, Kathy Becker Blease. You can also reach out to Mary Gardner who is providing administrative support for the search committee.

With kind regards,

Alix
